So I'm so confused guys! every where I search I find different info...some here some there!! Please help! I've ****ed up my ignition in my 1990 f250 it wouldn't go back to lock so I forced the key back into lock and busted something... now when I turn the key it will spin 360degrees... truck no make startie....so Ive been trying to find out how to replace the lock cylinder or atleast remove it! anybody got a link to a post or know how to do it? my coloum doesn' seem to have the release pin that my 1991 had... PLEASE I don't want to call a locksmith!
Turn the key to what should be the ON or run position. Look up underneath, there should be a small hole to stick a paperclip or similar in. You will probably need to tweak the position of the key in this case. It usually helps to give the year and model of what you're working on.
If you have a hole in the housing, tweak the position of the tumbler by turning the key to get the 2 holes to line up so you can insert the paper clip or similar. Or wait I guess you would need to line up the hole in the housing with the release pin in the tumbler, by turning the key.
