Just to let you all know, some members of FTE have been experiencing annoying pop-up windows coming up when closing tabs, closing windows, refreshing pages, and posting in threads. The Admins, Super Mods, and Mods are aware of it and FTE's IT folks are working on a solution.

Thanks for your patience and we hope to have the problem resolved ASAP.

 

anyone here getting this sites annoying popups just here ???

cant seem to get them to stop with every new page i open here.. running ad-block plus several virus/adaware scans but so far its still doing it.

very annoying...

not getting these popups on any other website.. but everytime i return to this forum they start right up again.

 

I can't continue to use this site until they stop.
I'm frickin sick of them loading up my browser.

 

The mods are aware of it... it's being addressed.

Seems there are other similar sites have this problem as well.

 

Surprising. I'm on this site daily, using Firefox, and I've yet to see any pop ups. I use numerous plug-ins with FF to limit this type of issue so I'm not sure what I may be doing that others aren't, but I can't remember the last time I got a pop up here..

 

yea im using same setup as you..

the really annoying part of these particular popups is they exist outside of FF, so if i close my browser the dam popups stay up.. i have to manualy close them..

super annoying.. and of course with every new thread i open both popups return again and again...

Didn't want to scream yesterday, but when i was trying to get on FTE my Avast antivirus
gave me a warning about TROJAN VIRUS trying to get on my system.
It got stopped by Avast but I was getting these pop-ups so i'd configure my computer to block them.
Scan your computers frequently ,there's a lot of sh@t on the net ,these days.

 

It even happens with Firefox in Ubuntu Linux OS, and I only use it for FTE and Skype, so its clean. I just turned the pop-up block on because FTE was the only one in the list.

 

There's actually a sticky at the top of the forum about this.

 

These pop ups are annoying... Im only seein them on FTE.. O well, gotta bust a beer out when i go on FTE now lmao.. Keeps me calm when the pop ups invade

 

In case any of you look for this thread, it hasn't disappeared. I just merged it with the sticky so we could keep as many of the comments about it contained to one thread as possible.

On another note, I have also been getting them only on FTE and have had no trouble on any of the other sites I visit. But, the FTE IT team is working hard finding the reason, origin, and solution.

I was having the problems with Firefox beta 4.0b8. The problems are with just this site and none other of the vBulletin sites that I visit. I switched over to Google Chrome and so far (fingers crossed) it has been working okay.
