I have run aground. I am putting another oil line from the front of the 400 to the rear where the oil sender is located. The plug is locked in tight. I took the one out of the spare 400 I have and it was no problem. I have tried all day to the point of getting the eazeout and drilling the plug. I still can't get the plug out. I have given up today but have to fix it tomorrow. Guess I can drill it completely out and hope not to mess the threads up.
Does anyone have a better answer? Thanks :-)
Most of those plugs are put in with a Brown Locktight.. I had to drill mine out cuz I strip out the allen head trying to get it out ..
I started with a drill bit the same size as the allen head then kept going bigger till I could just start to see threads, then took a cold chisle and caved it in and pulled it out with a vise grips.
If anyone is interested what I did was drill and tap the plug for the fitting I used. The plug is still in the block. Never budged the darn thing no matter what I tried lol.
Just have to make sure you get all the shavings out of the hole after tapping it .. hate to have them run through you oiling system ... that surely would scour your bearings
