My 79 ef150 has 6 inch lift. looks like plenty of clearance with front sump. Do i need a rear sump with this lift when prabally be getting air at the hole hill hole? ncgdt
I've had rear sumps on all of mine, but have been told fronts are fine, but if you have concerns and will be launching it skyward i'd go for the cheap insurance of a new rear sump pump and pan. better to be safe than have a blown motor.
Like rob said, It will work and prolly will not have a problem with it i ran one on my old engine in my 77 with about 2" of home made lift on the front it hit the axle one time when i came off a hill sideways with 3' of air and landed on the wall and it also buckled my fender a good bit in it aswell so with 6" you should be fine
Too bad you aren't running a big block. I have a 10qt pan, pickup, and dipstick that would be right what you need. I'm pulling the pan off my 466 for a real baffled pan finally!
pm me a price on that karl. i don't need any of it right now, but might down the road when i go bbf. if the price is right i'll get it while the gettings good.
