Lookin at electric smokers CS vs ST

AS the title says looking at electric smokers and have narrowed it down to cookshack vs smokintex. probably the stainless sm025 vs teh 1400.

so anyone used either or both, and whats your opinion?

I have had my hands on an ST 1400 and it is a heavy well built unit but researching I hear a lot of good about the CS also.

Advantages to me are

CS, made in america and has a temp probe

TX more racks, slightly larger internal size and a lot cheaper (about $300 cheaper for the ones I am comparing)

I have to ask you why you are looking to buy a smoker for that much money? Don't get me wrong, I am not criticizing, just wondering. Do you smoke alot of food at one time? I have only ever used wood and charcoal (lump) in an offset firebox design. I picked it up for about$150.00 maybe 7 or 8 years ago, and has netted mostly excellent results. The only problems I have had are operator error when I don't pay close enough attention to the temperatures. Maybe electric is the way to go, I don't claim to know as I have no experience with them. Anyway, wish I could help with your decision, but I was just curious. You gotta love smoked food, there is nothing like it!

I built a smoker a couple years ago and it works but not on really cold windy days.

I do smoke a lot of food mainly cause I hunt and get a lot of deer. I also like to smoke turkey's etc

Also if you get your hands on one of these you will understand they are not your typical $75 smoker. Both will last your lifetime. and probaby be last smoker you will ever buy. The stainless is 1/16" thick NOT the typical tinfoil type of stuff
