Universal Joint question
Hi,
I just bought a 1995 Ford F250 4x4 off a guy. It has 96,000 miles on. The guy at some point took to to the shop about a noise when he had the 4WD on. The mechanic said it was the Universal Joints and they needed replaced. I have never changed U joints on a 4WD vehicle. How would I go about changeing them on this truck, and is there anything else I should change while im changing them??
Thanks

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...-u-joints.html Here is a link to a good writeup on doing them. You don`t have to go as far as the ball joints but if they show any signs of wear might be a good idea to do them as well when you are that far in.
not sure if this applies but it would be safe to mark
their orientation to the shafts and to each other.
Somehow I got a driveshaft out of 'alignment' with the
u joint yokes and had to start over with no reference points.
It was hideously out of balance.
