I hate electrical!!

Just went out to look at my new to me truck, stuck the key in the igintion and nothing....I have no power to the cab of the truck it seems! I hit the brakes and the rear lights come on! but there seems to be no power to the cab....the truck had two batteries the one didn't seem to be doing anything so I took it out and replaced the other with a fresh battery... any ideas would be truly helpful...once the sun comes up I'll post some pics of the wiring setup....

Ouch...LoL...yes I did...that hurt...and like I said no power at all to the cab of the truck!

If you had the twin cell set-up, I'm guessing that you have the wrong ground hooded up, or the wrong positive cable.

Sorry for the dig, but I just couldn't help myself...LOL

the second battery had nothing connected to the ground and a couple wires to the positive so I moved them over to the one battery...and now I have nothing to the cab...most of the wires seem to be going to things mounted on the 1/4 panel....I should probably mention it's a 1990 F-250 4x4... I'll post pics in a couple mins.... how would I know if I have the wrong grounds and such hooked up? and if they are wrong why do I have power to the brake lights?
