EMC Location 91 Ranger?

EMC Location 91 Ranger?

For the life of me I can not locate the thing. Book says it on the right hand side of the engine in a black box. The Haynes manual call out a MCU (microprocessor control unit) are these the same thing? Thanks for any help.

Seems to me they are located in the passenger side kick panel just below and outboard of the glove box.
