I would want to see and hear that motor run before you put down the cash.

Even if it ran, 77 months is a long ways to trust that the oil is still protecting all the surfaces, i'd pass.

Where are you located? I can get you a low to mid 100 thousand mile 7.3L warranteed for 60 days that will have come out of a fresh wreck.

As far as the cali emissions, you should be able to use any motor with minor modifications.

Your truck is a 2000 cal truck. Is it an auto with no cat. If so you got it made. I'm in cal and you have to go by the truck and year no matter un less you go new type diesel but then by there standard not worth it. If you have a none cat no problem and like said above it isn't much to do on these truck anyway. Why was it smoking I didn't follow. Are you sure it needs a motor? Chet

All these truck have some blow by. Did you check the ccv hose is it pluged. does it idle fine and run strong other wise. Turn the oil cap over when motor is runing and can it set on the opening with out blowing off if so it s probably okay. check these and get back.

Pull the ccv hose off the drivers side valve cover the see if it is pluged then run the cap test again. someone will chime in here shortly to take you from here. If that hose is blocked you build heavey pressure in the engine and it will blow that cap off. There are other articles on here about that and what to do. If it runs great no missing etc., it mit be fine if you can find why it is building up all that pressure. Rings are possible but your miles are still low, if you don't get anyother responses start a new treat. I have foregotten most that I have read on this subject but I know theres guys here that can help. Call Clay at Riff. he can really set you straight and get you a motor if that is what you need. He won't just try to sell you one without helping as much as he can first ask anybody on here. Dan, kirklord post just went thur this also don't have his PM but if you can locate him on here I'm sure he'll try and help. God Bless,, Chet
