when it throws tran-oil out the vent on the top after it get hot is this noromal due to being over filled yesterday. when ealse will spill out the top vent ?. slight hum after 45min on hwy but not bad ?
i dont know the story the driver just said it felt funny to day
also
on the decell it felt like something was sliping and grinding but olny in 4x4. in two wheel drive it sounds like noromal and feels ok with the hub lock
i check all of the u-joints and are good
when all 4 tires are off the ground and in 4x4 the noise is very hard to hear but driving on payment and packed snow it can bee felt in the floor and heared clearly .
at lower speeds it sound like too gear not meching right on or like a base ball card in a bike tire when we were kids 0 to 64 km
and at faster speeds its a hum and vrabtion 65 to 100 km
it also pulls a bit to the left when in 4x4 and to the right in 2wd
the truck works on back roads and turkey trails most of the time
what can be checked or tested with AE on these trans ?
so im going to replace the transfurcase tomorow

( on the decell it sounds like something is slipping and grinding but only in 4x4. in two wheel drive it sounds like normal and feels ok with the hubs locked all the time )
i checked all of the u-joints and are good
also the noise sounds like its coming from front left tire area
at lower speeds it sounds like two gears are not meshing right or like a base ball card in the spokes of a bike tire when we were kids 0 to 40 km
at speeds faster than 60 km its sounds like a hum or Grinding noise
it kind of seemed like the noise went away when i stepped on the brake a little bit but not 100% sure
i also looked on the brake callipars to make sure both sides were sliding freely and pads were wearing evenly. also checked inside cooling fins to make sure they were clean. brakes work good, truck stops on a dime.
now that i really think about it maybe it makes the noise all the time and i can't here it over the 6L deisal

with all four tires off the ground and 4x4 engaged, tires turning at various speeds, cannot hear anything using stethascope on the hubs and the diff. only seems to make noise when driving.
any thoughts anybody?
today i also took the drivers side hub lock off and made sure by visual inspection internal parts were moving freely. seemed to look ok
what does it sound like when a hub lock goes?
