Hey guys. 2K F350 Automatic yada yada...Truck would not start when I was in parking lot. I can hear the solinoid click (both the relay under the hood and the one attached to the starter) tried bridgeing the relay with a screwdriver and had the ol spark, no start. My question being, the starter is only 1 1/2 years old...do they generaly run out by then? Gotta get up in the morning with snow and rain in the fukin parking lot and pull the starter! Should I replace the relay solinoid too?
I have had starters go that fast before. Seems the only way to get replacement parts that last is to go to Ford or really shop around. IMO you should replace the solenoid on the starter as well if you are going to rebuild. But I wouldn't bother with the one non the fender unless you have reason to believe itscausing issues
That's a thought two years ago I had to replace the ring at the end of my battery cable where it connects to the starter it had started to corrode through so i wasnt getting enough power to the starter. high winter salt areas I'm told that is a common problem
