Hi all, i have a 90 F150 with 5.0L and im not sure if the censor in my throttle body is bad or if im not gettiing addequite fuel pressure.. see what the truck will so is right when you start it COLD it will rev up to 1500 for like 2 seconds then choke down to around 600. my buddy told me that these trucks will do this if you disconnect the factory temperature gauge.(i did because i have a sunpro so i can see what's REALLY going on)
So anyway's my real problem is that the engine will randomly cut out (it seems like it could be fuel only) for sometimes a split second or sometimes more.. but will run much better at WOT.. any help will be greatly apreciated. thank's
The factory temperature sensor for the gauge has nothing to do with the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor the PCM uses to measure the coolant temp. They are two different sensors.
thanks guys! i think it is the AIC though. i saw a corroded wire(the closest of the three to the intake manifold) and it was pulled out.. so after a little fiddeling withi it i went for a ride... it got much better but i can still notice a little bit of the performance fading from time to time.
