Can anyone please tell me the part number on the seal for my power steering gear box. Local parts store wants to sell me a complete rebuild kit. Working on a 1985 f150 302 auto trans and power steering.
Dont know the part# but I got a sector shaft seal from autozone, came with a new snap ring and bushing, IIRC. Maybe if they look up sector shaft seal, or steering shaft seal (you didnt say wich seal you need)
There is usually a reason the seal is leaking, very rarely because the seal is bad. If the shaft is moving around because of worn mechanical parts, the new seal will leak also.
