Battery light flickers on start up

Battery light flickers on start up

Greetings everyone.

Quick question. I have a 2006 F250 that is new to me and I have noticed that the battery light will flicker while I am starting the truck and then immediately go out after it fires up. The truck starts quickly and drives great! Is this normal?

Gas? Diesel?

Bad batteries / Alternator / cables to start.

It is a diesel with 47,000 miles (1000 are mine without any problems). The last time I saw the battery light it was a dead alternator, however it was on all the time. Predicted -15 tomorrow morning brrrr.

Follow standard diagnostics for above...

Bet you have batts / alt dead.

Load test batteries individually after they are fully charged.

Hope that fixes it.. if you have OEM alternator and no additional big loads, you should be OK.
