Hey, Guys - my 2000 F350 Powerstroke is getting 14 mpg at best and I'm right at 50K mileage. Does that stink or what? Has anybody heard about the timing of the fuel pump?
From: I'm lost somewhere in NJ -- can someone please find me?!?!?!?
14 miles per gallon?
Do you carry a load with you or do any towing? What kind of trails are you driving in -- mountains, flat highways, around town for quick stops, etc? What psi are you running in the tires? Feed us some details...
Also, I found an old post from 2001 about a 1991 truck that might be of use for you... just click here and scroll to about the middle of the page.
That 14mpg is measured on highway use, non-towing with 33" Toyos at the recommended psi. I have the 3.73 rear end. Then when I pull my 24' Cierra I don't even bother with the mpg check.
Have you ever heard of checking the timing of the fuel pump?

Are you refueling at the pump with the green handle? Sounds like maybe you are putting gas in it and getting the mileage of the V10!
What ECU code is your truck running on? That can make a difference. I've got the PMT3 and if I run with my chip shut off I get about the same mpg as your getting, alittle better with the chip if I keep my foot off the floor.
