whats a good cheep replacement carb for a stock 2 barrel intake on a 400 engine

I think Motorcraft carbs are reasonable priced, and reliable.

That sure was a helpful title...

The factory-style Motorcraft is the most cost-effective replacement; you can pick up a used one on eBay or from a junkyard, and rebuild it yourself for under $50.
