I have a 97 F150 4X4 4.6L with no aftermarket engine mods. I use the truck primarily as a towing vehicle but I put a lot of miles on it on the highway. I'm looking to see if there is a chip that would give me an increase in towing power but more importantly I'm looking for an increase in gas mileage. Even a few MPG would help.
A Diablo or Superchips chip will help with power, it won't help with mileage (that's not the function of a chip). While you'll generally pick up a couple miles per gallon you must run premium with a chip so the mileage gains are offset by the added fuel cost.
