Deciding Which DP Tunes to Get!

So I'm looking at purchasing a F-5 from Dp Tuner to replace my hypertech. What tunes would y'all recommend getting? Im thinking of getting
0-no start
1-stock
2-40hp tow
3-80hp econ
4-100hp econ
and possibly a decel tune.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The mostly tow around 8000lbs, but it can get as high as 15,000lbs. I can't wait
Thanks,
Kevin

The Decel is very nice, you're choices seem good. The 40tow is a lower than you need for 8k, but will work nice with the 15k. Depending on what you are looking for on the high tune, you might want to go up one more level for fun. ;-)

And remember, it's much easier to add the tunes now, even if it cost more, than it is to have to pull it out, send it back, add more tunes and get it back in. The Tiptons are amazingly fast, but just the few days of having to drive around stock is brutal.
The F6 would be the other choice. You can try, add tunes and never pull the chip

I'd add a high idle tune and a 60 tow.

i would add decel and 60t. i have decel between 40t and 60t so anytime i am towing it is just a click away. i would trade the 100e for 120r. most of the time i am in 80e and it has plenty of pep,

Thanks for the suggestions guys! So you think that I should go with the 60 tow instead of the 40 tow? I dont have guages YET...so i was going to play it on the safe side when towing. I would add the high idle tune but I dont see much use for that. The truck already idles high when cold, and that is the only advantage I see.
Thanks again,
Kevin

Kevin, all those suggestions are good and I do admit I have all listed above except the 40t and a few extra. Remember, each tune is about the cost of a good meal, give up a couple good meals and get the tunes you want and need. I have No start, stock, high idle, drive thru, lope, 60t, decel, 80t, 60e, 80e, 120r, 140x, and 140smoke, in that order. Still got a few spots left, just can imagine needing anything else until I decide to do more mods.
Now, the ones I use, Stock for cold starts and warm up. High Idle for warming up faster, 60t for towing my 8k camper, decel for slowing my 8k camper, 80t for towing the boat, sometimes, 60e for most of my driving needs, seems just a little better on fuel than 80e and a little less smoke, 80e for when I want just a little more power and smoke, 120 and 140 for just plain fun and the 140 smoke tune is just for what you might think.

I would recommend both, 40 and 60t for your different towing loads, but with gauges, the 60t would work. The high idle is nice for several thing including if you ever add onboard air and need to keep the charging amps up to offset the power usage.

Just as an FYI, the 80 Econo tune will most likely get you into trouble much quicker than the tow tunes, unless you are really pushing it. I would highly suggest getting gauges soon if you run tunes. You can keep your foot out of it, but that is no fun

Haha that is a good point. I would love to get all the tunes but that just isn't affordable right now. So now I am looking at stock, no start, 40 and 60tow, 80e, 120r, decel, and possibly the high idle and 60e. With the high idle that would be a grand total of $533 which isn't as bad as I was thinking. Another question, what is the difference between the regular economy tune and the economy mountain tune? Also on the high idle tune, what RPM would you recommend? (I was thinking 1200?)

I think mine is 1100, but 1200 is fine. Altitude adjustment is the only difference I know of in the two. I would recommend talking Jody and let him help you decide what you want according to your needs. But other than that, you look like you have a good handle on it.

The nice thing is you are close to Jody, you can buy the chip, pay for live tuning, get all the tunes you want and have the perfectly tuned truck for a few bucks more.

heres what I have

no start
stock
high idle
40 tow
80 tow
80 econ
120 race
140 race

My favorite tune by far is the 80 econ, I even tow with the 80 econ sometimes, I like the way it shifts.

i have high idle and honestly never use it, i always set my truck to no start when i shut it off so when i turn it back on it is in stock for start up. if you let the truck sit and idle it will go into high idle on its own.
