What is the best way to go about leveling the truck? I have a 75 f-100 4 wheel drive. I know its about 2 inches higher in the back and I want to go ahead and raise the front up to level it out. Whats the best kits and where do I go to get them? Can anyone help with some advice on this please?
These rigs were built with a slight rake. In order to level it out, either the rear end needs to come down or the front end needs to come up. A 4-inch lift comes with 4-inch lift coils and 2-inch blocks.
Therefore to level a stock rig, the front end would need to come up 2 inches and zero on the rear (and do not remove the stock blocks in the rear!). With that said, Rancho still carries 2-inch lift coils. I used to have a pair (take-offs cuz I went with a 4-inch lift) but sent them to a fellow FTE-er in Texas. I say contact Rancho.
i like a level truck, unless you are going to pull a trailer- then i like it level when pulling. put in some front coils that lift it.
Will leveling the truck cause the camber to be off badly and if so how will I fix that? I was told that it would cause the tires to wear badly on one side if I do this. What can I do to stop that?
It's not the camber but rather the caster that will be off a bit. I forgot to mention to get a new set of C-bushings for your front axle. The ones you will want are for lifts 2 to 4 inches. They will correct the new angle of the axle relative to the radius arms.
If you had gone with a 4-inch or higher lift, I would have recommended radius arm drop brackets.
