tranny problem.. need a little help

sun gear&drive shell.. the shop said was wrong with my trans, how hard is that to replace on my own??

You would basically need to do a rebuild. Probably need a couple of special tools and a good rebuild manual. Check out youtube .com and see if anyone has posted a quick guide.

Sun gear & shell are not hard to change, what tranny is it? Pull the pump & a few drums then the sun gear is right there, get a schematic picture or book & do it yourself.

they never took my tranny out or looked at it.. they drove an told me thats what it was so idk.. it dont have reverse or 2nd gear or overdrive.. just 1st an 3rd

If he pulls it out & fixes it & puts it back in thats fair, then if something happens you can whine to him. If you sign a work order you will have to pay what he wants. Make him put the price in writing.
