Carb. vs SD on 351w

Well i was going to ditch the 95 f150, but i dont think after a few weeks ill be looking back and kicking myself in the butt for getting rid of it... Its a 95 f150 ext. cab 351w, E40D 4x4. It needs a new motor (the current one has low oil pressure about 40 psi, freeze plugs need to be replaced, and a few other things so for the price of fixing it i can buy a new one and get a 200k mile warranty) It dos have the speed density system from which i have been told is basically junk if you plan on modifying the motor at all. I will be lifting the truck 6" and running 33x12.5s sense it is a DD and may switch to 35s down the road when i change the gears out. The truck has the stock 3.55 gears, and depending on how much i have left after replacing everything the truck needs i may just do those as well. Which brings me to the main question, we all know these trucks are gutless pigs in stock form muchless ones lifted with bigger tires, so figuring a stock 351w puts out about 200rwhp, and mybe 290-300rwtq it could use some upgrading but i know the SD limits me so i have seen the kits on summit racing for changing it to MAF but the kit is about $1200 bucks then adding labor because i am not really expierenced enough to handle wiring... I was told switching to a carb. setup is another option i should consider? Pros vs Cons or any advice on the subject to educate myself would be greatly appreciated! My goal would be 275+ rwhp with the truck...

Your transmission is 100% electronic controlled. If you went with a carb. you need an aftermarket transmission controller or switch to a non-electronic transmission such as a C6, AOD or a manual transmission.

You can stay with a Speed Density computer system, you just need to watch your cam specifications. Plenty of threads of this subject in this forum.
