ONE OF A KIND & EXTREMELY RARE 1976 FORD COUIER 4-WHEEL DRIVE CONVERSION "THE SASQUATCH" WITH ONLY 3,800 ORIGINAL MILES. THATS RIGHT 3,800. TRUCK #590 OUT OF LESS THAN 1500 MADE BETWEEN LATE 1975 AND LATE 1979. IT COMES WITH A STANDARD 4-CYLINDER OVERHEAD CAM, WEIGHS ONLY 2,600 LBS, FRONT WHEEL DRIVE DANA SPICER 30, SERIES TWO SPEED TRANFER CASE, SHELBY TUBE STEEL FRONT DRIVE LINE, DANA SPICER 20 SERIES FRONT AXLE, WARN FREE WHEELING FRONT HUBS, WHITE SPOKE WHEELING FRONT HUBS. STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL H78 *14 NATION BRAND TIRES. HAS DEALER INSTALLED CANOPY. REAR STEP BUMPER COLOR, COORINATED ACCENT STRIPE. NO ALTERATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE STANDARD 4:10:1 REAR AXLE WHICH MAINTAINS COURIERS LOW GAS CONSUMPTION DURING HIGHWAY OPERATION BUT ALLOWS FOR TREMENDOUS PULLING POWER WHEN COUPLED WITH THE TWO SPEED TRANSFER CASE DURING OFF ROAD SERVICE. I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO TALK TO THE ACTUAL PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY WHICH WAS CALLED "NORTHWEST A.T.V. MFG.INC" LOCATED IN KELSO, WA. IN THE 1970'S, THIS TRUCK CONVERSION WAS A REAL GROUND BREAKER FOR THE FIRST SMALL 4X4 TRUCK IN AMERICAN HISTORY. IT TOOK OFF PRETTY GOOD FOR THE FIRST 4 TO 5 YEARS THEN TOYOTA GOT THEIR HANDS ON ONE OF THESE AND CAME OUT WITH THEIR OWN VERSION AND THE COMPANY COULD NOT COMPETE WITH THE OVERSEAS MARKET. 99% OF THE TRUCKS WERE ALLOCATED TO A HANDFUL OF DEALERSHIPS AROUND THE NORTHWEST. THIS TRUCK WAS ALLOCATED TO TOM ADDIS FORD IN CHEWELAH, WA, AND STILL HAS THE PLATE FRAMES TO PROVE IT. THE OTHER 1% WERE SOLD TO FRIENDS OF THE PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT OF THE COMAPNY. THE TRUCK RUNS LIKE BRAND NEW AND LOOKS LIKE NEW. INTERIOR IS FLAWLESS. EXTERIOR IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. IT'S BEEN IN HEATED STORAGE FROM DAY ONE. THE OFFICAL NAME WAS THE "SASQUATCH". EVEN HAVE THE BROCHURE.
