wiring problem

the other day when i was about to go snow wheelin' i let my truck warm up and when i was about to leave i smelt burning wire

so i poped off the light switch ( which was extremely hot) and found this

anyone else had this problem or know how to fix

You replace the light switch and the plug.
Make sure you have the right size fuses in the fuse boxes also.

It is caused most of the time by a bad connection between the switch and its plug.

If you want to avoid this problem after you replace the switch and connector, consider getting the headlight relay harness from LMC. That will carry the load of the lights so the switch doesn't have to, and make the lights a little brighter at the same time.

That's a good idea from texasguy. Painless products, has a light relay harness thing, too.

this weekend im gunna take out the dash to see how far up it burnt (hopefully not a lot) but if its not all the way up could i cut of the burnt ones and solder new ones on? if not how much is a new harness and is it easy to install?
