hey guys thought i would hit you all up for some Super duty history. trying to figure out whether buddy of mine has a 2005 or earlier f350 or a 2006 or later. he just picked it up for a good price, now from first glance it looks like 2006 or later. it has the newer auto locking hubs coils in the front and the headlights are the same as mine, did ford make this style in 05??? its registered 05 so im a bit confused. did someone screw up on some paperwork?
2005 was the first year for the coil spring front suspension and numerous other changes such as the new headlights, grill, interior, etc. In other words, he has likely got a 2005 or newer truck.
Yeah, the 10th digit is one of the stable/standardized portion of the VIN scheme.
