Hey All,
Was hoping that someone could help me with a problem on my 96 F150. This morning the air bag light began blinking. I noticed what appears to be a code 4 blinks pause and then 1 blink. What does this mean?? Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks for the reply I looked on several of the forums and didn't find anything. Found several people with different codes but no code 41. Any further assistance would be appreciated.
Sounds like the clockspring. It is the electrical link that connects the buttons on the steering wheel, (ie; cruise control, horn), plus the link to the airbag. Does the horn work sometimes? The airbag light on the dash is one of the first signs of this going. Good luck. Jake.
Code 41 is "RH Front Air Bag Sensor and Bracket Feed/Return Circuit Open" and 14 (just in case you're reading it backward) is "Front Air Bag Sensor and Bracket Circuit Shorted to Ground" (basically the same). That sensor is behind the grille at the top of the core support and the wiring runs across the core support to the L fender and back to the big firewall connector under the brake booster.
