It was actually the federal minimum wage law that killed water injection. No more service stations where some kid checks your oil, tires, etc. while he's pumping your gas. What percentage of Americans even check their oil even periodically, much less every time they buy gas? And they're going to keep some not-well-understood water injection reservoir full?
I've got to say though, once I put a Tornado on my 300 it dynoed 380 hp with a stock cam and gets 32mpg on the highway at 80mph without shifting to OD.
"Baron" If a tornado helped your Mpg is there a reason your no longer using one.?
Was that the one you put in the air filter housing. How much was it then $$.?
My other truck was averaging 32mpg last time i drove it 300 mi.
It is a 5.9 Cummins turbo 1 ton tho.
It would be nice to get at least half that out of the ford 300I6.

When i mentioned my other truck it was for comparison purposes .
Sure it's a diesel but the truck weights more and is geared lower than the ford.
Only problem is it can't handle driving these roads out here "front end heavy"
dodge front ends are week and I can't afford to rebuild it.
So for around here i need to drive the ford to save the dodge.
Just trying to get the best possible MPG out of this truck for short bumpy trips.
Any one else have any experience with a tornado good or bad?.
Someday when it warms up i'm going to put the silk/screen gasket in just to see for myself.
Maybe it'l work better under the EGR that might keep it from freezing
being closer to the exhaust manifold as the egr is stuck shut on the truck.
On the 300 I6 not a v8 or v6 .
Thanks for the replies good or bad.
I caught on this time, but when it comes to cluelessly taking satire seriously, I'm usually right there with the most clueless, Derrick.
There are lots of ways to improve a Ford big six, or most other engines, including for fuel efficiency. I just doubt that a quick-fix gizmo, whether you bolt it on or pour it in the tank or the pan, will do much good. Well, actually there is one, for newer vehicles, and that is the aftermarket computer chip. That is the one quicky fix that can frequently make a real difference. For our older gear, the only fixes that are both relatively quick and nearly always help are a good tune-up and airing up the tires. But try the gizmo and tell us about it! You don't need a show of hands on whether it MIGHT work; see if it DOES work!!
