just got back from playing in the snow here,,we get 2 or 3 inches every year or two..had a blast !!!the grip tires work well,,the wipers are getting better with use..,,the heater ,,well the windshield is sorta clear...didn't hit anything..does anyone else ...PLAY with their truck in the snow???and yes I got it sideways!! I may grow old ..I don't havet'a grow up!!!
The first day it rained with my truck running, I went hunting for muddy roads and ways to test my wipers. I found it funny. Especially when I found tons of puddles of water and mud then got scared I would get stuck and ended up not getting the truck muddy at all.
Heh, gave me a good excuse to rack up another 80 miles......
When I first bought mine I drove it for 2 winters in Alaska. I had a 300 lb sand bag in the back and studded tires all around. It would still break the back end loose whenever I wanted it to.
There are some nice sweeping curves in Anch that I used to drift through with alarming regularity. Mostly alarming to the vehicle next to me when I would go past them sideways in the curves.
I actually got pulled over one time by a trooper that saw me drift a turn downtown (at 10 mph) because the front end was plowing.
He suggested I continue straight if the front end plowed again on me then as I was walking back to my truck with the warning ticket he said; "By the way, nice turn dude."
Anytime I get a "New to Me" vehicle I can't wait to the first big snow - I get with a friend with a good 4x4 (That knows how to drive it) and go find a place that I can get stuck in - I screw around till I bury it a few times just to learn what it takes - Then I go find an empty parking lot and see how it handles donuts, power slides, j-turns and spin-outs.
I wnat to know just what it takes to make my vehicle do what I want it too.
da amm I feel normal now!!I was thinking I might break something last night..and thought it would be stupid if I broke my truck playing ...nice to know I'm not the only one playing in the snow...an' next time I get a back-up plan ..someone to pull me out ..didn't think of that...

That's the best way to learn, up here in the snow belt some of us get out and do the same kinda' stuff, makes a difference when in reality if you get into a situation you will know what to do.
