Angry Intake Air Temperature Sensor

I recently replaced the Idle Air Control Valve on my 1992 Ford F-250 5.8L 2 wheel drive pickup truck. I thought that this move would change the way my truck was starting. Sometimes it would start just fine during warm weather, but now that it is cold, the engine sputters and races and then intermittently runs normal when starting to warm up. However, this IAC Valve didn't correct the cold starting problem. I have been advised to change out the Intake Air Temperature Sensor since this little device appears to measure amounts of cold air being taken into the engine and thus relaying the info -when it works - to the ECM. At times the intake sucks in too much air through the air intake tube and even through the Air Pump Check Valve. I need help in locating the IAT Sensor and input about correcting this problem.
