hi all i have a 92 ranger 3.0 ext cab and some rats or something chewed the line theres like 2 layers and its real hard fuel line i called ford and they dont make this part anymore. is there a way to splice it or something ??
The service station I go to has a kit and repaired mine. It was on the rear tank and the broken shock had cut a hole into both lines. The kit is expensive and made to fix several lines. It is not something you would want to buy yourself.
The fuel lines are hard plastic. It gets VERY brittle with age. Ford had parts available to splice in sections where the line had gotten damaged. I do not know if they are currently available. You may be able to find replacement lines at a boneyard.
If you can cut out the chewed part, and fit a piece of rubber(?) fuel line over the stubs, you should be ok. My part shattered when I dropped it onto the top of the tank when replacing the 'sender' assembly. Dropped maybe 3" and it broke into many pieces, closer to the fitting than yours. I was told by the local dealer parts man that I had to buy the whole assembly from tank to fuel rail, and no sub-assemblies were available. NumberDummy, a member here, told me that I had run into a lazy parts guy. And that partial replacement parts were available...

hey guys!! thanks i listened to yall and spliced the line with some new hose and clamps and the truck started!!
however,,,,there was tons of white smoke coming out the exhaust for like 5 seconds and i panicked and shut the truck off...is this smoke caused by another problem or just needs to burn off some gunk from sitting for so long??
