Multifunction switch (turn signal) 1996

The multifunction switch has gone out on my 1996 F150 4x4 ext cab. 180,000 miles.
Has anyone replaced one lately ???
I think the upper steering column shroud comes off, and there are 2 screws holding the stalk on.
If you have any advice, please send it.
Thanks,
Gene

You've got it figured out. After you take the covers off ( you dont have to remove the wheel) you take out the 2 torx head screws that hold the switch on then remove the wiring plugs. Assemble in reverse order like the manuals always say

That switch CAN be disassembled, cleaned, & repaired, but you have to be REALLY careful & observant at the moment you pull the case halves apart so you know how to put it all back together.

Thanks for all the information.
I suspect that the switch is dirty inside.
I will put a new switch in tomorrow.
This original one gave me 180,000 miles of service.
Best wishes,
Gene
