97 f150 electrical issues, please help

Hi, I sold a friend a 97 f150 5.4 about a year and a half ago. He let it sit since then. Finally put it on the road today. Put a new battery in it, started right up and ran great. Changed the oil and while we were doing that, a chime type noise started coming from the bottom the dash area around the middle, it kinda sounds like an old dialup tone. Also a clicking noise behind the fuse box under the hood. When the truck is off and the key is removed from the ignition, the windows will work, the radio will still be on and the blower motor can be operated. Does anyone know what could cause this? I was thinking maybe a bad ignition switch, any other ideas? Thanks

Also the airbag light is on now

Don't know about the 97 ,but my 03 will do that.....until you open the door!

electrical problem

Yea it sounds familure, I would suspect the "GEM" module, that is the only item that can bypass the ignition switch and will allow stuff to work while the key is off.
