Shock Absorber Question

I removed the shocks on my F250 “Highboy” when I started restoration, they looked almost new and I just laid them aside. I’m now almost ready to reinstall them but I wanted your opinions on what to do. All the bushing are good and the shocks are all very tight, by that I mean I have to clamp one end in the vise to pull them open and push them back closed, they are made by Delco, they are not gas charged but seem to be very good. <O</O

My question is should I reuse them or get new ones, it’s about $180.00 for four and I could use that to buy other goodies needed.<O</O

Thanks for your input<O</O

if it was my truck i would go ahead and replace them. your restoring the rest of the truck why not replace the old shocks. you probably dont know how long have they been on the truck before you had it. but if they seem to be good you could also reuse them and spend that money on other goodies. and later on when you get some extra money go back and replace them. either way is fine in its own ways.

I don't even understand why you would entertain the idea of replacing them if they're still good.

if this was a part thats in the transmission for example or its a part deep in the truck and its one of those deals where "well i may as well replace it now and get it out of the way" then that would be understandable. but being that shocks take 10 minutes a piece to do and there is nothing to it, then why waste the money on new ones if the old ones are fine?

I would just try the shocks you have.

Worst like said above another 10 minutes to replace them.

If they do work $100 or so saved.
