Intake mod then trouble starting
The good news is I did get started.
Now here is what happened. I performed the air intake mod by removing all my stock intake mess and installed the Baldwin Air filter from RiffRaff by using a couple clamps and pvc which all went pretty good. The tough part was getting the old bottom part of the air box out, geez! I got everything done and decided to clean, I'll do the mod later, the oily goo from the stock pvc setup. I sprayed a bit of brake clean at and around the nipple sticking up inside the turbo housing which connects to the PVC hose on the outside I also ran a rag inside that same area to clean it. When I got in the truck to start it it kicked back and would not fire, tried this three times it would just crank but not fire up. I went around to the engine and noticed smoke coming from the exhaust side of the turbo billowing upword. I look the air intake back off and let it sit for 5-10 minutes and tried again. It started but blew a good amount of white smoke then cleared and seem to run ok. I reinstalled the air intake the got back inside for a test drive when I shifted into reverse it died. It did restart though. Drove around the block then got home and started/stopped a few times all was ok.
I am hoping this was from spraying the brake clean inside the air intake but not sure why this would happen?
Any thoughts???
Thanks...
Mike
