No 4x4

No 4x4
Ok. Here is my question. I have a 2004 ford f-350 sd 5.4 Triton. the issue i am having is i have no 4x4. i replaced the wheel hub assembly and put a new o ring on.. like a idiot i forgot to grease it till AFTER it was back together. But now to the other issue. i have shift on fly and auto-lock/ manual lock hubs. if i put my hubs in manual and turn the switch to 4x4 hi should i or should i not have 4x4. because i dont. i know i have a vacuum leak at the hub but would that stop all 4x4 functions? any help is greatly appreciated. or suggestions
