water in fuel

i have a 2008 ford 550 c and c, the truck died on me one day and had it towed to a dealer and they run a computer on it and said it had excessive water in it, but when the light came on 6 months ago i drained and went on but the code will still be there, it died with no code of water in fuel,just a wrench, i have drained the tank filters and radiator looking thing and looking to see wherer the next set of lines to get to, do i have to reset the computer before it will start, i need it to run so i can get back to work, i have cleaned every thing i can think of and looking for the high pressure pump and i guess i am to dumb to find it, but i wanted to drain there as well to make sure that this is not the problem,

also do the filter companys hold any responsability to the damage if the filter fails wihtin a month

First, Welcome to FTE. Second, I assume you have a diesel ( you didn't say but with the water in fuel I assume it is ) so if you scroll down the Forums page to this section 6.4L Power Stroke Diesel - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums these guys should be able to help you. Its an 08 so you might still be under warranty unless you have exceeded the mileage. I know with my old 6.0 the proper filters with the AquaBloc membrane were a must. The wrong filters will allow water to get to the injectors and if that happens you have bigger problems. As far as the filter companys responsibility, probably not but you could go after the fuel supplier if you have receipts. Do you run any PowerService or any other demulsifier/conditioner in it?
