I had 1 brake that would only hang up after a hard stop like a quick light or off ramp. the only way I found it was to pull the caliper off. 1 of the pistons was cocked in the bore which a parts guy said was because the caliper mounting bracket's holes got egged out, which looked like my bracket. replaced the caliper bracket and caliper no more hanging up.

Was your fuel mileage bad?

krbdog, I was getting around 8mpgs. but like all my issues with this truck it is all sporadic. I did get a new cat yesterday thanks to Lou's Custom Exhaust a high flow bullet type.

something else that helped was seafoam in the vacuum lines to burn off the carbon from my two sporadic failing cops.

I'm changing COPS and plugs tomorrow. Hope it helps. What is seafoam anyways?

available allover in mass. general cleaner of fuel, oil systems. says right on the can for carbon removal, which was my issue for 2 cylinders. fed it in the brake booster vacuum line, was pretty smoky on startup after the 1st treatment. almost no smoke after my last treatment.

If you've the brakes are hanging up, you should be able to feel more heat on that corner after a short drive. Be careful checking, hot brake parts can burn really badly. Don't ask how I know...

I have an 2000 Excursion and I'm having some of the same problems... used to have tons of power and now not so much. The gas mileage has gone down from 14.5 to 12 on the highway. I've replaced MAF sensor, coil boots, new cat, and run about 5 different kinds of fuel system cleaner through it. I've also replaced the fuel pump and filter. The truck acts like it doesn't get enough fuel because it bogs down when i step on it and also it bogs down when I accelerate in low RPMs. Any ideas? My next try is fuel injectors

Where do you live? IMO it's probably the tune in the ecu isn't for e10.Ford trucks run borderline lean from the factory now factor in this e10 crap which needs to run 10% richer

100% agree!Almost every truck built before 2006 seems to need a tune.Look at some of the NASTY afr's on stock trucks I found online.

Check to see if you have a mouse nest in the air duct leading to the air filter.

I'm in the humid south. I know that affects performance, but how do I tune it? And what exactly is the IMO and how do I check it?
