Replacing head lamp socket 02 escape

Can anyone tell me how to replace the head lamp socket on my 02 escape?

Are you referring to the three pronged plug?

I think the only thing there is a female socket.

What happened to it that it needs replacing?

My best guess would be: cut old one off, slipe some heat shrink wround wires, solder new socket to wire harness and shrink the tube aroud it.
