Fuel Injected versus Carb

Sorry for asking this noob question but I really have to know. I live in CO at altitude and cannot afford to mess with a carb truck. I have searched the FAQ and cannot find the answer to my question. What years of the big broncos are carb versus fuel injected? Specifically does this car on autotrader have a carb? I love it but is it worth 11k? thanks

Bummer! I dont know if I can do another carbureted car in Colorado after my Wagoneer. Are there certain years after which the Broncos became fuel injected?

im not real sure, but looking at the list of VINS in LMC truck, it looks like starting in 87 the 5.0 got EFI and in starting 88 the 5.8 got it.

i live in Central Oregon at about 3500,4000 ft level an i'm running a carb on my truck with no problems . its an edelbrock 600 cfms . I drove her from seattle to central oregon with only one problem she over heated going over the pass . turned out it was a cracked head . i prefer carbs over fuel injection

EFI began on the Bronco as early as some of the 302 equipped 1985 models. By 1986 most 302's and 351's were. Can't quite recall when the 300 (4.9l) inline 6 got the EFI (perhaps 1989-90). The entire line stayed that way through the end of production in 1996.

As for the model in the ad. Most likely it is EFI. However, I would run from that truck. The "dual exhaust" is routed wrong! It comes straight out the back which is potentially lethal in a Bronco. The stock exhaust exits out the side so that it doesn't draw up through the drain holes in the tailgate in the dead air vortex behind the truck. I will likely get some argument on this but its the truth.

Greystreak is right on this. Right now my tail pipe is broke at the axle. I can tell you that diesel smells much better than unleaded lol. I guess I should go get the duals off the donor I bought and get them on mine.
