changing bodies

I have an 83 e-350. I found a new body and I want to know how to lift the old one off ,and put the newer one on. any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mush

It really depends on how you are set up tool/equipment wise.

It could be done with some saw horses and some long 4"x4"s and a jack. Or if you have an over head hoist, big fork lift/front end loader, a hell of a lot of friends or just use a sawzall and cut the old body up to pull it a little at a time. I've cut the bodies off a few vans.

You'll need to get all the wiring and everything pulled/unhooked from the body. Remove all the body mount bolts. Then you'll have to lift the body high enough to get something in under it to support it while you roll the chassis out from under it.

It's not a super easy job but it's not super hard either.
