anyone have any suggestions on where to shop for a new radiator? Most auto stores seem to sell them. I'm just looking for suggestions and/or experiences from anyone who has had to replace one. My '90 E150 has a little over 277,000 miles on it now (same 4.9L engine) and the radiator is pretty clogged up and blowing steam clouds from a tiny hole hole. Thought it deserved a new radiator by now. Thanks! Jack in PA
Shop around to see what kind of prices you can get. Make sure you check the price at your local Ford dealer. Sometimes they have good prices on more popular parts but people dont check because they assume the dealer will be more expensive.
I think a radiator for my 89 F-150 4.9 M5OD was about $150 last I checked. I am not real picky on radiators as I have never had problems that weren't related to old age, rocks or fan blades tearing them up. My radiator I have now has a big slice taken out of it from my fan blade, when the water pump bearings went to heaven and threw the fan blade. I just gooped up the hole with RTV and she's good to go. Hasn't leaked in 6 months, not a drop.
I recored a Jaguar XJ6 radiator and I think it was about $150.
