Hello all. This is my first post on this site and Im fairly new. I have however been browsing around and checking out what questions others have had and have learned a ton. Being a new diesel owner its nice to be able to come to a place like this and be surrounded by so much knowledge. That being said I have always been wary of forums because I have found a lot of them are full of the monday morning quarterbacks who have been there and done that 8 times and know everything. I couldnt be more wrong about this site. Probably one of the most knowledge, friendly and helpful sites I have ever been on!!!
So down to business. I have a rather stupid question but like I said having been a diesel owner for 3 months everything is new to me. I was under the truck looking at the exhaust the other day and noticed that the downpipe comes off the turbo in the stock size and then about half way down the fire wall it expands to a 4 inch pipe and then continues out to 4 inch all the way back. I know I have read that 4 inch down pipes arent actually 4 inches at the turbo because of the housing but Im wondering what size down pipe I actually have??
Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks again for a great site!!!
The turbo outlet is 3" and it goes to 3 1/2" for the rest of the exhaust stock. On a 4" system the downpipe how a 3" neck where it connects to the outlet but it is 4" all the way besides that.
