Man oh man, is there anywhere in this country that would have a external spare tire carrier out of a junkyard for less than 150$?
Maybey I'll just give up on the idea. Anybody know of a good place to try?

Thanks Steve, I'm going to have to put the tire carrier on hold. My GF (without insurance) just got a hospital bill for $12,500 yesterday. Suddenly made the project vaporize into thin air. When I get things worked out I'll inquire w/ you later on. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my questions
