Check this out. I took my truck (2009 F150 XLT 4X4 4.6 screw) to the dealership to have that pesky trans leak fixed. Along with that, I had a whistling noise coming from the third A/C vent from the driver door.
I thought it was just a leaf or piece of something stuck down inside.
They had to replace the evaporator core and case to get the noise to stop.
I picked my truck up on December 23rd and noticed that the compass on the radio display was not working. I figured "it's not that big on a deal, I'll just take it back later" think that they could just recalibrate it. Nope. They did every reset and calibration they knew and still nothing.
Now I have to take it back on Monday and leave it for some time, because they have to get Ford involved to figure out what the problem is.
In the meantime, I get to drive a brand new truck until they figure mine out. So I'm pretty happy with my dealership.
They checked for that when I took it back in. The guy says that he thinks that the compass module is bad. Apparently they have never had to replace one, so their all freaking out over it.
