AE Help- Won't connect

AE Help- Won't connect
Trying to hook the AE for the first time and searched for similar issues. Found a couple but no posted solutions.
So, in the comm settings, I checked the USB, J1850PWM and non-OBDII settings. For the vehicle, the get VIN didn't work so I manually entered Ford, 2000, Powerstroke 7.3L and Enhanced Powertrain. I already entered the enhanced activation code and it shows green.
I get the no comm error. I tried various combos of auto-detect, J1850PWM and obdII on the comm page with no joy. I tried a couple of different vehicle config with no joy. I switch USB ports (only two) and the reader installs correctly but still won't connect. I have an Edge Evo that can read codes and it gets/reads the OBDII port just fine.
Ideas?

Actually......
I was trying to read the dialog box running in the background and saw the thing about turning ignition on. The Edge connects then tells you to turn the key so I was kinda waiting for that to happen. I was just out at the truck and got it to work so was gonna post back when I saw your reply.
Talk about embarrassing
I'd love to erase the whole thread, but maybe I can help out another poor soul.
