so it looks like maybe my transfer case might ship out friday, so its looking like my truck will be out of commission for 2 weeks by the time its all said and done. when does ford offer to pay for a loaner. I have never had to wait this long for a vehicle repair. as expensive as my truck was, I don't like knowing its broken for half the month while I still make payments.

Loaner ?
That's funny..... Never.
Local dealers, sometimes at their expense...
Call the 800## and ask, never hurts. And one time they said they might do something if parts are delayed.... But they came in.
as was already suggested, call the Customer Service number. Also, over at The Diesel Stop, there is a CS Rep named Cory. He will help. Here is the link:
I would ask, but I think it depends on the dealer. I was in the service department at my dealership about 2 months after getting my truck and there were 4 brand new 11's with 6.7's (crew cab / lariat ultimate/ nav / 20's) with plates lined up where they park vehicles for service. I asked the service manager what was wrong with them, and he said nothing.... they are loaners for people who bring in their trucks for repair at no cost. Basically bring in your broken truck and drive away with a new one to borrow. He said the dealership knows people work their trucks, and need a truck to use....not a car.
I see this as two fold: 1. Get guys to drive the new rigs when their's is down and possibly trade to a new one, 2. Good repeat sales tactic to keep customers happy, because we all know the service department is key to any vehicle.
I also know the plan for these trucks was to turn them around quickly and sell them used. We had one to drive when one of the 6.4's took a crap and it had about 4,000 miles on it, and the most was around 9,000 miles.
Before I call the 800 number and "Go over the head" of your dealership, just try and ask your dealership nicely. I personnally think you do "deserve" to have a loaner truck, but I would just tell them the jam you are in and need transportation for work and family. If the service tech isn't helpful, ask to speak with the manager. I do it all the time for extra service when I feel I am a loyal customer and in the right. It goes like this: "Here's the deal "Bob" (Ford dealership manager), I am a loyal customer, this truck is my baby, I spent a ton of hard earned money on it and need transportation to get to work and pick my kids up from school. I am not asking for an exact vehicle loaner, but some loaner would really help me out. Also..I am a member of FTE online forum....I praise your dealership to my hundred friends.....so if you screw me and not give me a loaner truck.....we will all band together and burn this POS dealership to the GROUND!!!"
the problem I have is the dealer that is fixing the truck is 250 miles away from where I live.
which sucks because I am going to have to drive all the way back out there to pick up the truck and drive it back. I will call the service people and see what they will do.
When I bought my truck, the dealer made me sign a document that indicated that they were not on the hook for loaners as part of the deal!
Doesn't the Ford warranty program mention something about rental cars being paid for under some circumstances? This certainly would qualify in my book!

I think the warranty program/roadside assistance covers rentals as well. Also check your insurance riders - some riders provide this type of coverage as well.
When the door gasket on my 08 F250 needed replacment under the warranty, my dealer gave us a Fusion to run around with for 2 days until the repair was completed. He filled the tank before we took it and simply asked that we refill it before returning it.
About 10 years ago a dealer here (***** Ford) had a pair of F-150's they would loan out. Since then I now use both H-Day Ford and LHM Ford Lincoln, and both will get an Enterprise rental.. LHM will cover a Fusion for free or split the cost of a truck with me ( $60 day..$30 my part). H-Day will cover $25 a day which is a Fusion, but H-Days rates on trucks are only $40, so my portion is $15 if I want a truck... Not sure if its a dealer thing or a Ford thing.
