Slipping tranny-04 S-Cab 4.6
After looking thru the archives, now I am reaaly at a loss as what to do. Local tranny shop is 1/2 a block away. Ford dealer is several miles, but can to a fluid change for me tomorrow. Local tranny I might have to wait a week, and then they have it ALL DAY. ( 1 employee with 2 stalls.) Tranny just started acting up today. I bought this truck in 2009 with just under 100K on it. I wanted to do the flush thing this spring but the truck isnt listening. We have alot of snow on the ground now and more on the way. So doing it outside now is out of the question. Both shops say they will do a converter drain as well, the guy across the street says they will adjust the bands, not sure about the dealer on this one. I want the correct type of fluid put in, and that is why I dont trust the shop close by. Truck has 113K miles on it. Not sure if a change happened with the 2 previous owners. I thought the book said to change it at 100K. Any ideas? Thanks.

I am not getting any warning lights on my dash. We just returned Friday from a 220 mile trip up north and back, so I am thankful it didn't act up up there. It is covered with junk and road salt and I have been wanting to get it washed since we returned. I did read that post from a man who had issues with wires/plugsattacched to the tranny causing troubles. I do not know what tranny is in this F150.

Dont take your truck to the tranny shop. There is no way to adjust the bands in your trans(4r75w). If there are any problems with the trans the od light will flash. If the light is off then everything is working ok and overdrive is active. If you lock out od then turn the truck off you will have to lock it out again once you restart it.
