I've seen that, I don't like the stick'em on snaps. I'd like a combination of that, and the OEM one for the 08 - 10 model trucks

That's the same as the one on top, and I don't have to get dirty. It's not consistantly cold enough here, at least I don't believe it is, to put a solid board in and leave it all season, and not have to adjust it at some point.
Why not use the Lund cold front kit it just snaps in place and you can remove or install however many pieces you want?
because I don't want to drill or glue snaps to my grill. If I had a back up grill, no problem, I'm all for it, but I would prefer a velcro strap system like the OEM one supplied with the 6.4L engines.
It is indeed quite hard to find something nice. I really like the factory ford one but only made for the 6.4l. I was thinking of getting one and making it fit but i decided no.
I ended up getting Precision grills stainless steel winter front kit for the 6.0l Lariat.
Even this kit was very hard to find (i'm trying to find it right now to give you an idea, but i can't even find it) but let me tell you this is a very nice kit. I left it up to my local truck acces. shop to find it and get it for me (can't remember how he found it). VERY easy to install/remove. Extra pieces included for complete coverage (very cold weather).
Not cheap at $250 bucks but let me tell you the kit is perfect. Looks really sweet too!
I'll post up some pics of the truck next time i snap some shots of it with my winter wheels and winter front.
Have you checked out Cloud Rider? I have one of their kits and it looks sharp, no drilling or velcro tape. They have two types a full winter or a summer one that will still limit air flow over the radiator. I don't use it in summer as I tow. Here in Alberta it can get -40 and with wind blowing across the front even colder so what I did is take a sheet of plasticore, cut it to fit behind or in front of the insert to completely block it off. Hopefully the link works. Welcome to Cloud-Rider®
I can maybe see needing one of these for those guys that live in Alaska and Canada but I live in MN and have never had the need for one. My truck seems to stay plenty warm idling and driving even when it is -20 here. My buddies Dodge on the other hand wont ever warm up at idle and takes forever when driving. I see the original OP is from Tennessee I cant imagine it ever getting cold enough too need one there unless we slide into another ice age.
Try something like these Air Hawk Industries : Mud Flaps - Grille Inserts - Box Liners
Mine are similar, and then have another plate that can be mounted to completely block off the air flow through the grille. I leave those off unless it gets really really cold. You should also look for some that cover up the whole in the bumper and protect your coolers.
Thanks for the info, and yes I am in TN, but I have an external oil cooler, and the sub freezing temps and this mod don't work well together. This is mainly why I want to cover the grill. The hole in the bumper will be left open.
