87 vs 83

I have 2 trucks

87 F150 351w 4bbl C6 8.8 with 3.08 gears
83 F150 351w 2bbl C6 8.8 with 3.08 gears 4x4

Both trucks are mostly stock.
My 87 hauls but. 0-60 quick
My 83 is a dog 0 -60 is a life time

I know there would be some difference be cause of the 2bbl but wow this truck is slow.

Is there more too it

Your '83 is at a weight disadvantage vs. your '87. Add to that 4 more years of motor wear and a smaller carb. Yea, it's going to be slower.

I did just find this
<table class="wikitable"><tbody><tr><td>351 CID Windsor V8</td> <td>1983–85</td> <td>150 hp (110 kW)</td> <td>280 lb·ft (380 N·m)</td> <td>2bbl</td></tr></tbody></table>5.8 L V8 1987 210 hp (160 kW) 305 lb·ft (414 N·m) 4-bbl.

The '87 engine is a "351 H.O." All 351's after 1985 were. The "High Output" version adds a 4 barrel carburetor, larger air cleaner, and a performance oriented "marine" camshaft. The fact that the '83 is a 4x4 will slow it down some too because of all the extra weight.

1983-85 351 Windsor V8 (2bbl) = 150 hp, 280 lb/ft.

1984-87 351 H.O. Windsor V8 (4bbl) = 210 hp, 305 lb/ft.

1983 351w 2bbl: 150hp, 280ft/lbs of torque

1987 351w 4bbl: 210hp, 305ft/lbs of torque

The 2bbl could probably use a rebuild anyway..

Edit: I guess I didn't type fast enough..
