'87-'96 perils when buying?
Hello folks
Hope everyone had an anjoyable festive season and is settling into the new year.
It has been somewhat over a year since I sadly had to sell my '83 F100/F150 mutt, but am thankfully in a position to buy another truck. Being as I am in the UK, F trucks (particularly '80's/'90's) aren't about in abundance but I have located a '94 Longbed F150 reg. cab, 4.9 I6 w/5 speed.
I've done some searching on typical problems but would be grateful if anyone would chip in with the sort of issues I should be looking for. So far I have gotten the gist of
Usual stuff like checking the frame
Evidence of leaks from the twin tanks
Rubber bungs in the top of the Mazda gearbox?
General corrosion from our oversalted roads
I was lucky with my '83, it was bodily perfect when I bought (and sold) it. What sort of places do the '87 - '96 trucks rust? I'm looking at it with a view to bringing it home on Friday morning.
