help

I love my X but it's starting to drive me bonkers. When I first got it the radio was possessed and now that just stopped and then the doors refused to believe they were closed. That has stopped also and now I'm having some kind of fuel problem. When I'm driving it inconsistently jerks and hesitates likes it's not getting fuel. Hubby was determined it was fuel pump. I didn't agree but well he's paying for it so........ He changed it but nothing changed. Also the filter. No better at all. It also now has the theft light on and 3 times in the last 2 months the brake! light has come on. It also pulls to the right when I brake and we changed out the breaks all around and replaced the right caliper but nothing changed. It also jerks/bounces sometimes when you brake and I have no idea what is causing that. Had the back rotors machined. Was told fronts don't need machining. Please HELP!

Give some more info about your truck .V10,V8,diesel?milage.
Use SEARCH feature and type in your symptoms.
There's lots of info about everything you need to know.
Did you greased your caliper pins?
Did you check fuel pressure?
Check for pending codes.
Door sensors & locks are probably gummed up and need to be lubricated.
Let us know.

Also known to have windshield leaks that seem to find their way down to the fuse box causing corrosion and all sorts of electrical issues. Check the back of the fuse box for any evidence of this.
Also wires under the column cover that come down the gear shifter from the o/d switch rub and short out causing issues.

The fuel, you will want to check for pressure, but like said, more info.

v10 4x4 limited. had all actuators replaced. One day daughter was playing with lock button on driver's door and smoke cameout and now doors don't lock at all. But until then locks were working fine, it just didnt' believe the doors were shut. Hoping the smoke problem was a module or sensor or something. Keep meaning to look in there just busy working on land and septic and water well and electric and mowing and christ five kids. Need a break from everything breaking on me lol

If I had to venture a guess, the 'hopping' you are experiencing during braking is due to 'warped' front rotors. (Rotors don't really warp...they get spots that grab more.) I had my rotors turned when I replaced the pads this summer. Smooth braking lasted all of 2 months. I finally installed new ones that are cross-drilled and slotted, and the hopping/shuddering went away.

You can fix that problem for less than $200 (including shipping.) Go on ebay and find rotors from BrakeMotive. So worth the money.

Good luck.

Five kids are all 10 and under and GIRLS. Not really too much help LOL. They mostly just argue with each other, and tell me they are hungry. LOL.
And may I add that the carwash just grabbed my wiper and now it will only go up and gets stuck on the way down. CHRIST! So let me add that to the list of things I am behind on getting fixed. Oh and I just found out that the stuff my hubby wants me to get to kill the gophers requires a Private Applicator's License from the state, gonna cost me $85 bucks plus about 8 hrs of my life to get it but otherwise it's a few grand to get pest control to come out and kill them all. So I guess I'll be acquiring ANOTHER useless license from the good ol' state of Tx LOL. I have quite a few of them to be able to do my own work. I hate paying people to do things that I know I can do myself. Anyway, so what do I got?
Wipers
Locks
Fuel delivery problem
Theft light
Brake! light
Bouncing during braking
pulling to the right during braking
Seems like there might be something else but I'll add it to the list if I remember. Bought a fuel pressure regulator yesterday, gonna put it on later see if that helps with the fuel delivery.

Well,
One of the problems could have been prevented with birth control pills.
For the engine issues, alot times a bad COP causes all sorts of problems. May not be bad, just have a bad boot somewhere or a bad plug. The braking sounds like stated above with the warped rotor. Good luck with this and all the personal issues as well..

My suggestion would be go to Auto Zone and have them do a PCM scan...they'll do it for free and let you know if there are any stored codes and what the codes are for...they are hoping you then buy the replacement parts in their store...good marketing eh! ... Make sure they don't CLEAR any codes though incase you can't fix it you would want someone to see the codes too...

The pulling during braking is very likely a stuck caliper slide pin (my guess)...When was the last time the brakes were serviced?...when they are...the calipers are disassembled and there are two pins per caliper that need to be taken out, cleaned, lubed and reassembled...if one of those are stuck and not sliding...could very easily account for the sensation you are feeling since only one front brake is grabbing...just a guess.

The others...well...a 223 for the gophers would work.

Wiper...well that one should be straight forward.

Good luck...I stopped at TWO GIRLS...you are braver than I am...but don't you Texan's always do things BIGGER!!!

Joe.

Don't spend money on parts which you probably don't need right now.
Check for codes.

Yes they do warp, while turning rotors on a brake lathe you can see easily where they are warped and how much they warped.

In some vehicles if the warping is bad enough you can feel the pulses in the brake peddle.

Hubby agrees might be rotors warped. How does the motor for the wipers work b/c it seems it somehow damaged that motor. Now the wind caught them and ripped them up even further and I can't get them to move at all. Don't want a gun with five small kids. Just call me big chicken. lol

My guess is there is a broken gear somewhere in the wiper motor... Probably plastic!! Never had to mess with the one on my truck, but have fixed many small electric motors with broken plastic gears in my life...

The wiper motor gearbox has a metal worm gear and a plastic sun gear. Never seen one broke but I imagine they can break.
